Workshop: Encouraging the Commercialization of Research Results and the Utilization of Cluster Mapping through EU-US Collaborations
6-8 December 2011 - Center of Transatlantic Relations – Johns Hopkins University – Washington, D.C.
This event included European and American experts related to the commercialization of research and cluster mapping. Presentations and discussions focused on the exchange of good practice on innovation policy, more specifically aiming at:
- Commercialization of research results (Day 1): share different policy approaches of the EU and the US to support commercialization and engage in policy learning; debate how public and private investment in research can be complemented with an innovation system conducive to transforming new knowledge into innovative products and services.
- Innovations in cluster mapping (Day 2): present recent developments regarding the study of industry clusters, in order to understand and debate where these key drivers of economy are located, how they operate, and what governments at all levels can do to support their growth and development.
