The HMRF aims to build research capacity and to encourage, facilitate and support health and medical research to inform health policies, improve population health, strengthen the health system, enhance healthcare practices, advance standard and quality of care, and promote clinical excellence, through the generation and application of evidence-based scientific knowledge in health and medicine. NSFC RS International Exchange Scheme
   
   

According to MOU of National Science Fund Committee (NSFC) and Royal Society (RS), this scheme is for scientists in the UK and China who want to stimulate new collaborations with leading scientists overseas through either a one-off visit or bilateral travel. RS will provide 6,000 GBP annually, including cost of living for Chinese researchers in the UK and UK researchers in China. The programme will last from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2016. Applications should be submitted before October 30, 2013.

ANR / RGC Joint Research Scheme
   
   

The scheme that jointed launched by French National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherché, ANR) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme (JRS) aims to strengthen the collaboration between French and Hong Kong research communities in areas of mutual interest to be jointly identified. The scheme aims to support the achievement of world-class scientific and technical results, leading towards new knowledge. Both basic and applied research proposals of high academic merits in all areas will be invited under the Scheme.

Jiangsu Province (China) and Tekes Groove and Skene Programmes (Finland) for Industrial R&D
   
   

Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, Jiangsu Province, The People's Republic of China, and Tekes, Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation in Finland have launched the 2nd call for Joint Industrial R&D Projects with a primary aim to support joint industrial R&D aimed at development of products or processes leading to commercialization in the global market.

Getting Involved
   
    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.    
   
Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF)
   
   

Applicants should read the Standard Conditions of Research Grant in the Guidance Notes for Research Grant Application before submitting research grant applications.

If your application is approved, the Principal Applicant (PA) and the Institution are required to sign an Agreement covering the terms and conditions of the research project. You are strongly advised to read the terms and conditions under which funding is provided in addition to the rights and obligations of the signatories.

Applicants are required to complete the electronic application form. Only applications submitted on the standard forms will be processed.

Parallel submission of applications by Chinese and English applicants is required. Chinese applicant needs to log on (http://isis.nsfc.gov.cn) to fill the form. Print out all material and mail to NSFC before October 30, 2013.

   
         
   
ANR / RGC Joint Research Scheme
   
   

Parallel application submissions by the Hong Kong and French applicants are required for both initial and formal applications.

French applicants should submit the pre-proposals via the on-line system of the ANR. Detailed information on application procedures of the ANR is available at the ANR website.

The deadline for electronic submission of pre-proposals to the ANR system is 23 October 2013 at 1300 hours (Paris local time).

Hong Kong applicants should submit a hard copy of the same pre-proposal together with the Application Supplement, ANR/RGC 1a, to the RGC. The RGC will not accept proposals without the Application Supplement Hong Kong applicants should submit 6 hard copies and a soft copy each of their pre-proposals and Application Supplements through the Research Administration Offices of their institutions to the RGC by 28 October 2013 at 17:00 (Hong Kong time).

   
         
   
Jiangsu Province (China) and Tekes Groove and Skene Programmes(Finland) for Industrial R&D
   
   

Finnish participants should submit a short project outline (maximum 3 pages, special application form) by November 30th 2013 to Tekes. Chinese partners should follow the guidelines issued by the Jiangsu Province. Tekes will give all participants the possibility to present their project and partners either personally in November 12th.-13th 2013 in Tekes. Tekes and Jiangsu Science and Technology Department will jointly screen and evaluate the project outlines and participant’s eligibility. The final proposal will be asked according to the evaluation. The results will be notified to the participants. Deadline for the final proposals will be the February 15th 2014. Submission guidelines will be provided to the projects concerned.
