NSFC-EPSRC Collaborative Research Initiative in Sustainable Material for Infrastructure


The EPSRC Engineering Theme wishes to develop collaborative projects between researchers from the UK and China in partnership with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in the area of ‘Sustainable Materials for Infrastructure’ under the following themes: Multi-functional materials, Energy efficient buildings, Novel concrete technologies, Materials 5R (Reduce, Recover, Reuse, Recycle and Retain).The application deadline is 19 February 2014.

France – Xu Guangqi 2014

The goal of the Xu Guangqi programme is to develop collaborations between Chinese and French researchers working in laboratories affiliated to universities, research organisations or companies of both countries by supporting them in their initial phase of launching and development. Mobility of young researchers within the collaborations is particularly appreciated. All disciplinary fields are eligible, including Human and Social Sciences. Funding up to EUR 5,000 can be provided to support mobility of members of the partnering research teams between France and China in 2 directions (flight tickets and EUR 110/day). The projects to be funded under this programme are selected by the French Embassy to China. Deadline to submit application for the 2014 call is 3 February 2014.

Dragon-Star Innovation Award

Successful and innovative research and Chinese-European business cooperation are invited to apply for the Dragon-Star Innovation Award. The Award aims at delivering visibility to shining examples of Chinese-European successful collaboration cases in order to motivate and stimulate future Chinese-European cooperation. The winner will be awarded with the “Dragon-Star Innovation Award” at the China-EU S&T Cooperation Forum to be organised in Brussels in 2015. The application deadline is 31 March 2014.

Getting Involved
    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.
