The Earmarked Research Grant (ERG) is administered by the Research Grants Council (RGC). The majority of the ERG is allocated to General Research Fund for academic research projects. All proposals are subject to a rigorous peer review process via the RGC's five subject panels supported by an international network of expert reviewers. Applications for research project grants are assessed by the relevant subject panel assisted by a number of external experts from all over the world. There are two types of academic research: basic research and applied research.

In the spirit of revitalizing the LSCM R&D Centre and further stimulate the passion and drive for excellence of the logistics and supply chain arena, it will be focused on the following fields:
1. Infrastructure Information Technology System
2. Internet-of-Things (IoT) and RFID Technology
3. Location-based Service (LBS) Technology
4. Logistics and Supply Chain Analytics and Applications
5. Supply Chain Security (Authentication / Logistics Security)
6. Financial Services & e-Commerce Technology

Applications must be submitted to the Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies (LSCM) either:
a. In hard copy in triplicate (one original plus two duplicate copies), in person, or by post. Please also kindly provide a soft copy (preferably in MS Word 2003 or above); or
b. Submit to LSCM through the Innovation and Technology Commission Funding Administrative System (ITCFAS).
Note: Please note that registration is required before using ITCFAS to submit the project application.
