UK – AgriTT Research Challenge Fund: Working with China to accelerate agricultural technology transfer to low-income countries
   
   

AgriTT is a new initiative between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the Ministry of Agriculture, China, and the Forum on Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) to promote transfer of agricultural technologies, knowledge and management innovations from China to low-income countries in Africa and Southeast Asia. The AgriTT Research Challenge Fund invites teams of researchers to apply for grants to work on one of the following themes: critical agricultural technologies, effective value chain development and innovation in knowledge sharing and communication. Grants will be awarded in October 2013, and will run until October 2015. Grant will range between £150,000 and £300,000, depending on the theme addressed. Concept Notes should be submitted by 28th June 2013, the best of these will be shortlisted and invited to submit full proposals. The deadline for full proposals is 30th August, 2013.

CSC-Chinese Culture Research Fellowship
   
   

This call has been published by China Scholarship Council (CSC), aiming to sponsor overseas scholars and specialists of Chinese culture to conduct short-term research and exchanges in China. The programme is open during the whole year. The application documents should be forwarded to CSC three months prior to the time the applicant plans to come to China.

    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.

Applications must be submitted to the Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Enabling Technologies (LSCM) either:

  • In hard copy in triplicate (one original plus two duplicate copies), in person, or by post. Please also kindly provide a soft copy (preferably in MS Word 2003 or above); or

  • Submit to LSCM through the Innovation and Technology Commission Funding Administrative System (ITCFAS).
