Dragon-Star Plus will provide the EC and the Member States with tools for setting a long term cooperation strategy with China in research and innovation. The proposed activities take into account the current on-going policy dialogue and the peculiarities of the research and innovation environment in China, and are based upon the outputs and the established mechanism of the previous DRAGON-STAR project.

China-UK PhD Placement Programme

   
   

The China-UK Joint Research and Innovation Partnership Fund (known in the UK as the Newton Fund) PhD placement programme is delivered by the China Scholarship Council and the British Council China. The focus is on research areas that reflect the common interests and demands of both countries, including: health and life sciences, food and water security, environmental technologies, energy, urbanisation, education and creative economy for economic development and social welfare.

NSFC-STINT Bilateral workshops Programme
   
   

The aim of Joint China-Sweden Mobility is to strengthen Swedish research and higher education by developing and establishing international partnerships. The programme supports projects of high scientific quality which are clearly contributing to the activities of participating institutions.

Innovation and Technology Support Programme (ITSP)
   
   

ITSP supports midstream/downstream research and development (R&D) projects undertaken mainly by universities, R&D Centres, industry support organisations, professional bodies and trade and industry associations. ITSP invites applications for funding every six months. The Government adopts a three-tier funding framework for ITSP under the ITF. Tier 2 involves the funding of applied R&D projects which are industry-oriented and have potential for commercialisation. Tier 3 involves the funding of exploratory and forward-looking projects.

NSFC-NWO-RCUK Joint Research Programme
   
   

NSFC has signed the cooperation agreement with NWO and RCUK in order to promote collaborative research among the scientists. The fields of joint cooperation pregame focus on sustainable deltas. The fund of each project from Chinese applocations should not exceed 300 million RMB.

The deadline for application is October 25th, 2016

Getting Involved
   
    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.    
   
China-UK PhD Placement Programme
   
   

1. Applicants must find a host institution in their target country and placements must start between January and December 2017.
2. This opportunity is open to UK and Chinese nationals who are currently enrolled, as PhD students, at accredited higher education institutions or research institutions in the UK or China respectively.
3. Complete the online registration form of the China Scholarship Council here and print it.

NSFC-STINT Bilateral workshops Programme
   
   

1. The Chinese applicants must have an ongoing NSFC grant whose duration overlaps with the duration of the mobility grant with no less than one year.
2. Sweden applicants should be working at a university in Sweden and have obtained their PhD.
3. The proposed project must encompass at least one Swedish and at least one Chinese.

1. All applications must be trilateral, including Chinese, Dutch and UK.
