Dragon-Star Plus will provide the EC and the Member States with tools for setting a long term cooperation strategy with China in research and innovation. The proposed activities take into account the current on-going policy dialogue and the peculiarities of the research and innovation environment in China, and are based upon the outputs and the established mechanism of the previous DRAGON-STAR project.

Programme Xu Guangqi 2017


The goal of the Xu Guangqi programme is to develop collaborations between Chinese and French researchers working in laboratories affiliated to universities, research organisations or companies of both countries by supporting them in their initial phase of launching and development. Mobility of young researchers within the collaborations is particularly appreciated. All disciplinary fields are eligible, including Human and Social Sciences.

NSFC-RGC Joint Research Programme

The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme (JRS) aims to promote collaboration between researchers/research teams in Hong Kong and the Mainland on the basis of complementing existing strengths of both sides. The six focus areas under the Scheme are: Information Technology; Life Science; New Materials Science; Marine and Environmental Science; Medicine; and Management Science. For Mainland applicants, the funding amount per project is around 1 million RMB.

The deadline for application is February 10th, 2017

NSFC-EPSRC-NERC Joint Research Programme

NSFC has signed the cooperation agreement with EPSRC and NERC in order to promote collaborative research programme among the scientists. In 2017, China and UK will co-fund the cooperation research project in the filed of Offshore Renewable Energy.

Getting Involved
    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.    
Programme Xu Guangqi 2017

1. A final report is required no later than three months after the end of the projects.
2. French project leaders must use the downloadable report template and attach it to their record online within that time.
3. This report must also be sent to the Embassy of France in China in the same period (see contacts for the program).
4. Publications in the context of this project should be mention of the support granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international development.
