Dragon-Star Plus will provide the EC and the Member States with tools for setting a long term cooperation strategy with China in research and innovation. The proposed activities take into account the current on-going policy dialogue and the peculiarities of the research and innovation environment in China, and are based upon the outputs and the established mechanism of the previous DRAGON-STAR project.

NSFC is delighted to be working with the Academy of Medical Sciences, Royal Society and British Academy to offer Newton Advanced Fellowships, available through the Government Newton Fund which is part of the UK’s official development assistance. The Newton Fund is a new initiative that aims to develop the long-term sustainable growth and welfare of the partner country through building reserch and innovation capacity.

Researcher Links Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and a partner country to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. The Fund aims to promote the economic development and welfare of either the partner countries or, through working with the partner country, to address the problems of low-income and vulnerable populations.

NSFC-NWO-RCUK Joint Research Programme
   
   

NSFC has signed the cooperation agreement with NWO and RCUK in order to promote collaborative research among the scientists. The fields of joint cooperation pregame focus on sustainable deltas. The fund of each project from Chinese applocations should not exceed 300 million RMB.

Getting Involved
   
    Generally speaking, the applicant will be required to fill in a standard application form designated by the national agency managing the programme, and submit it with the required documents to the secretariat of the national agency or a host organization of the funding programme.    
   
NSFC-RS-Academy of Medical Sciences Newton Advanced Fellowship
   
   

1. Applications can only be submitted online using the Royal Society’s electronic Grant Application and Processing (e-GAP) system.
2. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent research experience and hold a permanent or fixed-term contract in an eligible university or research institute.
3. Applicants should have no more than 15 years of postdoctoral experience.

2. Bilateral workshops can be proposed between the UK and China, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico and Thailand.
